Description

The original artwork “The Art of Letting Go” is a metaphor for the moments in life where it’s necessary to release, relax and accept. This image, for me, is a talisman for surrender of life’s flow, of accepting what is instead of how things could be. It is not a suggestion to stop fighting back and wither away in the face of evil. Hell no! It’s making space for the new, and finding empowerment in the old. It’s finding self worth and dragging yourself out of the swamp. Stories can be rewritten. Pain can be transmuted. Overwhelm about terrible world events can be, with attention and care, turned into appreciation of the precious things we still have. Grief can turn into light, with time and help of loved ones and soft moss and bowls of homemade soup. Those precious, human things you don’t let go of. This painting is an invitation to leave worry for a day and call on someone or something you love. Call on hope.
